The season will kick off in an unusual manner with the Round Nine fixture of the SEFNL Grand Final re-match Berwick v Narre Warren taking place on the 6th of April, a week before the scheduled start of Round One.
This will provide Berwick an opportunity to unfurl its 2018 Premiership Flag. These sides will then have a bye in Round Nine.
Round One proper will see the reigning Yarra Ranges and SEFNL Premiers do battle, as Wandin host Berwick on the Sunday (14/4). This will also provide the Dogs a chance to celebrate their recent premiership success.
The other fixtures in Round One see Olinda Ferny Creek host Narre Warren and unfurl their 2018 netball premiership flag, Healesville do battle with Upwey-Tecoma and Cranbourne play Beaconsfield at home. Woori Yallock will have the bye.
Round Two (Anzac Round) will see two Anzac Day games, with Berwick playing Healesville alongside the traditional Narre Warren and Beaconsfield clash. Two days later the round will be completed with AFL Yarra Ranges Grand Final rematch between Wandin and Woori Yallock and Upwey-Tecoma’s first home game of the season against Olinda Ferny Creek.
The Battle of the Creek (Berwick and Beaconsfield) will be played in Round Four and Round 13, whilst all games in Round Six will pay tribute to our Indigenous Ancestors as we play our Indigenous Round, a week after the AFL. This round will see Woori Yallock and Healesville play their fixture as a night game.
Premier Division will have a full bye on the 18th of May as the AFL Outer East head up to Bendigo for our Interleague clash, whilst the Finals will commence on the 7th of September and carry on through to the Grand Final on the 27th, once again on the (AFL) Grand Final Public Holiday.
